wax on...wax off...

Summer is right around the corner and it's time to think about grooming..."down there". Shaving is always a fast and easy option but it can leave razor bumps and doesn't last more than a day or two. Waxing is my personal favorite way to keep things looking nice and tidy in the bikini area. It lasts much longer, it will be at least three or four weeks before hair is long enough to wax again. Of course, it is painful and there is really no way around that but the pain only lasts a few minutes and the more you do it, the less painful it becomes. There are many options when you get a bikini wax. You can have your esthetician take off as much or as little as you like. A regular bikini wax will remove only the hair at the bikini line but a french bikini will go in a little bit further than that line. I think it is worth going for the brazillian wax if you are feeling brave! It will take off everything including any hair in the bum area. You can leave a strip or a triangle at the front area if you don't like to be completely bare. If you go online, you may be able to find an esthetician in your area who can wax a cute shape into the front area like a diamond, a heart or a star! If you are planning a very special night for a very special person you can also look for a technician who offers "vagazzling" or sticking rhinestone shapes in the front area after a brazillian wax...again, hearts, stars, an initial and diamonds are popular shapes. The possibilities are endless! It really is worth a little time and money to feel good about that very special area!

the eyes have it...

One of my favorite make-up trends for spring is BRIGHT EYELINER! It only takes a few minutes to swipe on a line of color that will make your eyes pop. No need to go overboard, just a bright line on the top or bottom lash line and a relatively bare face otherwise looks fresh and modern. To make more of a statement thicken the line. Yellow, pink, blue, green or purple...any color of the rainbow works! As always, have fun with it!

I am slightly obsessed with elephants at the moment! They are the largest living land mammal and they are amazing creatures. They are very intelligent, socially complex and long lived (they live to be up to 70 years old). There are ways to help elephants remain safe and healthy such as NOT buying ivory and NOT supporting circuses that exhibit elephants. For many other ways to help, visit http://www.elephantvoices.org/support-now/what-you-can-do-support-now-70.html. These creatures (and many others) are fighting for their right to live peacefully on this earth. They are deeply emotional and very special so let's do what we can to help keep them safe!

primal...

Spring fever! One of my favorite styles is trending...TRIBAL. Seen from designers like L.A.M.B. on the runways and found in affordable stores like Charlotte Russe and Urban Outfitters, this trend is attainable and so cool.

and more chocolate...

Since it is getting close to Valentine's Day, we'll stick with the chocolate theme! This is a great recipe for a sweet, moisturizing at-home facial mask. You could also put some cool cucumber slices over your eyes. Take time to have fun, treat yourself, relax and take care of your skin...enjoy!

Moisturize: Chocolate Mask

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 Tbsp heavy cream
  • 1 tsp cottage cheese
  • 4 tsp honey
  • 1 tsp oatmeal

you can rock this trend...

PUNK FASHION is back for 2011. Seen from designers like Balmain and Balenciaga on the runways, this trend is very wearable. No need to go extreme, you can add just a touch of punk to your wardrobe. A studded purse or belt is a great way to add a little rebellion to any outfit. If you are more daring, leather or faux leather pants or jackets are a great statement. Plaid, hounds-tooth and lace are classically punk as are combat boots. Distressed denim and tees are always very punk-rock as well. Have fun, be yourself and rock on!
